P&O Princess Cruises de merged from the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company in October 2000 when it started trading as an independent company on the London and New York Stock Exchanges. P&O Princess Cruises plc subsequently joined forces with the Carnival Corporation bringing together two of the most respected names in the industry.

It is said that P&O invented cruise holidays with a long history dating back to the 1880’s. Hence, P&O Cruises today are the UK’s number one Cruise Line. As of 2005 the P&O fleet will consist of five ‘state-of-the-art’ super liners; Arcadia, Artemis, Aurora, Oceana and Oriana, each with its own style and character.

The P&O Cruise experience is tailored to the British Passenger. The currency onboard is £Sterling with costs such as drinks being relatively inexpensive in comparison with other luxury cruise lines. The ships designs are based on modern, lavish facilities with choice and variety whilst retaining some of the timeless traditions of life at sea.
